What do you feed your rabbits?
FEEDING SCHEDULE
Per 1 Rabbit (3lbs Rabbit):
- Unlimited Timothy Hay & water all day
- 2 tablespoons (egg size amount) of pellets each per day (1 tablespoon in the morning and 1 tablespoon at dinner time)
- 1 packed cup of rabbit safe veggies at dinner time (Our favourites are:  dandelion greens, cilantro (coriander), dandelion greens, dill, curly & Italian parsley, romaine & green leaf lettuce, chicory, endiveâŚmore rabbit safe veggies click here)Â
- 1 tablespoon of rabbit safe fruits 2-3 times per week.  *Carrots are treats! do not give it to them everyday. It is high in sugar and can cause diarrhea and diabetes.Â

What are the basics of a good house rabbit diet?A rabbitâs diet should be made up of:
Anything beyond that is a âtreatâ and should be given in limited quantities.  Portion:  80% hay (unlimited), 10-15 % veggies (1 packed cup), 8-10% pellets (2 tablespoons per day per 3lbs rabbit). What makes a good pellet?Pellets should be fresh, and should be relatively high in fiber (18% minimum fiber). Do not purchase more than 6 weeks worth of feed at a time, as it will become spoiled. Pellets should make up less of a rabbitâs diet as he or she grows older, and hay should be available 24 hours a day. What kinds of veggies should I feed my rabbit?When shopping for vegetables , look for a selection of different veggiesâlook for both dark leafy veggies and root vegetables, and try to get different colors. Stay away from beans and rhubarb. Hereâs a suggested veggie list. Is feeding hay important?Hay is essential to a rabbitâs good health, providing roughage which reduces the danger of hairballs and other blockages. Apple tree twigs also provide good roughage.
